History of Khazovia, Part 3
#241 * May 18, 2025
  1. Zia: "History does not record who her parents were, but this little girl, born in 1960 or 1961 on the streets of Baku, would one day begin the new Khazovia." "Some old documents say she was once called Nadjiana Saravaqizi."
  2. Zia: "She joined a street gang when she was twelve." "Through her intelligence and drive and ruthlessness, she led that gang within three years." "By the time she was twenty, she controlled every gang in the city."
  3. Zia: "Her gangs became a militia, and in the vacuum of power, they grew to become something else: Leaders." "For her militia soon began to provide not just stability but institutions that were sorely lacking: Police. Food. Education. Hospitals."
  4. Zia: "Her speeches of her nation's lost pride filled her people's hearts." "As did her rightful tale of their victimhood." "Her obsession with the restoration of her nation's glory swept far and wide."
  5. Zia: "At her insistence, on May 1, 1985, Khazovia held its first election. She won fairly, with 83.4% of the vote." "That was also its only election."
  6. Zia: "She grew in power rapidly then — and so did her nation. Its pride and its might, both long-dormant, resurged, and in twenty years, Khazovia was no longer a ruin." "Its skills and its talents honed by a century of war, it became a military powerhouse almost overnight."
  7. Zia: "Gone was the First Khazovian Empire of opulence and riches, of trade and soft power." "In its place was born Khazovia, a military dictatorship — its people bitter, angry, and spiteful over their nation's ruin."
  8. Zia: "Unlike in some dictatorships, the Khazovians have full access to information outside their nation: radio, television, Internet, and more." "They know what the rest of the world is like — and they despise it." "Khazovia is terrifying in a way that no nation in your world has ever been."
  9. Zia: "They have the second-largest army on the planet, and their weapons stockpiles are second to none." "Conventional, nuclear, biological, chemical — if you can name it, they have it." "Khazovia is a military fortress where few people dare to enter or leave — and that's exactly how they like it."
  10. Zia: "And that little girl today?" "She calls herself the Regent of Khazovia." "She uses the name Sara Vont." "And she is among the most feared people in our world's history."
Character: Zia

The thrilling conclusion, 1960s-present: The rise of the military dictatorship of modern Khazovia, and of its leader — Sara Vont, the Regent of Khazovia.
